The voluntary association Amici della Mongolfiera per Luis was founded in 2011 with the aim of supporting Italian and foreign citizens in times of difficulty with particular attention to women, minors and prisoners. The association promotes and plans paths aimed at setting up a network to encourage meetings between the realities present in the territory in a perspective of sharing and collaboration.

The founding points are:

  • Study the possible forms for a correct social and cultural integration among citizens.
  • Sustaining relationships between families from different cultures and social situations
  • Developing associations and volunteering
  • Intervene in people’s difficult situations
  • Promote the organization and implementation, also on behalf of third parties, of events, seminars, training courses, exhibitions, competitions, both national and international. Collaboration with associative organizations, public or private, national and international with similar objectives.

To achieve our objectives the following activities are carried out:
In agreement with the Municipality of Pavia for the support and reception in filling in and sending the forms for obtaining: residence permit, long term EEC card, Italian citizenship, family reunification, support in filling in the forms for obtaining housing eligibility and any bureaucratic practice useful for the regularization of foreign citizens.
Our many years of experience, which led us to build direct and constructive relationships with social workers, educators, the Police Headquarters, the Prefecture is certainly fundamental in order to conclude the regularization process in the best possible way. Immigration Desk in agreement with the University of Pavia, the Police Headquarters and the Prefecture of Pavia facilitates the regularization and support to students, researchers, scholarship holders, teachers from non-EU countries.

Legal assistance: free legal assistance through attorneys with Free Legal Aid Free L2 Italian courses for adults with bi-weekly attendance; level A1 for EEC Card and B1 for Italian
citizenship. Free bi-weekly homework help workshops for compulsory school students and higher education institutions with particular attention to specific learning disorders (ADS, D1).

The Association is also a reference point for the Municipality of Pavia for “unaccompanied foreign minors” (MSNA) from a legal and bureaucratic point of view. Foreign unaccompanied minors are today in Italy one of the most vulnerable categories of minors at risk of social exclusion and discrimination.
